Executive Series: Individual and group programs for senior executive or upper management teams seeking a leadership edge.  Please look over these two sample programs, one utilizing sea kayaking and the other trapeze arts. We find that getting an executive team out in either setting for two days of intensive leadership development or planning pays tremendous long term dividends.

Youth Series: Group programs that provide fun, interactive life skills learning for junior high, high school and college aged youth. This particular sample program emphasizes public speaking skills, which we teach in a creative and supportive manner that youth really enjoy. EXECUTIVE SERIES to the top
Kayak Learning Expeditions

This InnerTrek series is designed expressly for executives seeking to maximize their leadership capabilities and inspire leadership qualities in others. Using our Whole Leadership Process™, programs are designed with your organization's needs in mind. They are built around stimulating sea explorations by kayak and include three integrated modules that focus on Conscious Intention, Effective Behavior and Personal Confidence. The learning is cumulative over several sessions of one to multiple day outings. In this series you will learn how to:

  • Cultivate and convey leadership character and charisma
  • Develop a sharper sense of self and your impact on other people
  • Identify, clarify and resolve critical relationship breakdowns
  • Manage challenging personalities, whether inside or outside your company

Conscious Intention (Self Knowledge skills)

Excellence in executive relationship building begins with a clear understanding of your personal intentions. In this section you will learn about the conscious and unconscious factors that affect intentions and create authenticity, as well as the core human competencies instrumental in forming our intentions: awareness, imagination, reflection, and judgment. We'll study the important roles that perception, projection, personality and persona play in executive relationships. We'll experience "thinking" the way different personalities think, learn about personality and persona tendencies, understand how we are perceived by others and discover how to manage personality differences.


Effective Behavior (Relationship, Communication and Teamwork skills)

Maximizing an executive team's cohesiveness and productivity requires the ability of each individual to behave effectively in a range of situations. This section provides instruction, practice, videotaping and feedback in skills drawn from the following areas:

  • Relationship skills - Learning techniques for recognizing and resolving differences, creating productive relationships, developing verbal content and strategies, giving and receiving peer feedback, and mentoring others.
  • Communication skills - Learning to develop content clarity and memorability, to maximize physical delivery and interactive skills, and to present thoughts and feelings in a variety of specific situations, including informational and motivational forums, formal and informal settings, small and large groups settings, and internal and external situations.
  • Teamwork skills - Learning leadership and team strategy options, effective leading and following behaviors, team spontaneity and creativity techniques, and how to work more effectively together.


Personal Confidence (Transformative Learning skills)

This special element of the program develops each executive's sea kayaking skills from basic paddling and safety to advanced expedition techniques. The process includes trips into pristine wilderness areas of the Bay Area and studies of the history, ecology and wildlife of the region, including the Tomales Tule Elk population. Over several sessions, the training prepares participants for a kayak trip out under the Golden Gate Bridge. Trips can be arranged as overnight camping or conference center experiences. Kayaking equipment is provided and personal camping and clothing equipment are supplied as necessary. Sumptuous meals are provided for each outing.

Trapeze Arts Learning Experiences

These InnerTrek programs offer a truly unique opportunity for executives to develop more conscious intentions, effective leadership behavior and increased personal confidence. Skills are taught by experts who will demonstrate, guide and encourage you to soar to new heights! Activities include flying trapeze, static trapeze, trampoline, tumbling, clowning, clown make-up, juggling, hand balancing and many other "circus" skills. Programs culminate in performance level tricks, including the completion of a "catch" on the flying trapeze.

Practical Selling

This InnerTrek series of indoor/outdoor learning modules and activities provides lessons, tools and practice in cultivating more productive internal and external sales relationships. Each program is comprised of three integrated modules that focus on Conscious Intention, Effective Behavior and Personal Confidence. The learning is cumulative over several sessions. Effective Behavior (Relationship, Communication and Teamwork skills)

This series of full-day instructional sessions works towards demonstrable behavioral change in specific critical activities within the sales process. Instruction, practice, role-plays, videotaping and coaching are provided to develop skills in the following areas:

  • Relationship skills - Learning techniques for uncovering client needs, recognizing and resolving differences, creating productive relationships, and developing verbal content and strategies
  • Communication skills - Learning to develop content clarity and memorability, maximize physical delivery skills, facilitate interaction, manage objections, present recommendations, and advance the sales relationship
  • Teamwork skills - Learning leadership and team strategy options, effective leading and following behaviors, team spontaneity and creativity techniques.


Personal Confidence (Transformative Learning skills)

Participants join in a series of half-day sessions in fun, safe and professionally led sea kayaking or trapeze arts instruction. YOUTH SERIES

Speaking Skills

InnerTrek provides an exciting series of outings designed expressly for youth seeking to develop their personal and group leadership abilities, while having an awesome and inspiring time with each other. The program focuses on developing conscious intentions, more effective leadership behavior and increased personal confidence using our Whole Leadership Process™. The learning is comprised of three integrated modules that provide a tremendous opportunity for youth to:

  • Cultivate self-knowledge and insight into dealing with other personalities
  • Develop critical public speaking skills through professional instruction, practice and coaching
  • Learn trapeze arts or sea kayaking skills in a safe, fun and confidence-building environment


Conscious Intention (Self Knowledge skills)

This part of the program focuses on developing self-knowledge skills in awareness, imagination, reflection and judgment. We'll explore the important roles that perception, projection, personality and persona play in relationships, and gain experience in "thinking" the way different personalities think. Over several outings, you'll learn about your own personality and persona tendencies, how others perceive you and how to manage personality differences.


Effective Leadership Behavior
(Relationship, Communication and Teamwork skills)

We will provide instruction, practice, coaching and where appropriate, videotaped feedback in three essential areas of public speaking from our communication segment:

  • Content - Learning how to develop speech content with clarity and memorability
  • Delivery - Learning how to deal with nervousness and develop effective body language and vocal skills
  • Interaction - Learning how to field questions and generate positive audience involvement

In addition to the communication skill building, we will weave in exercises that develop relationship and teamwork knowledge.


Personal Confidence (Transformative Learning Skills)

Our Transformative Learning program provides an incredible opportunity for youth to have a blast while increasing their physical and emotional confidence. Each program offers professional instruction and practice within a safe, fun and confidence-building environment in either:

  • Sea kayaking - Learning safety, paddling and rescue skills, along with challenging individual and team exercises
  • Trapeze arts - Learning a variety of "circus" skills, including flying trapeze, static trapeze, trampoline, bicycle tricks, juggling, hand balancing and more

These outings are designed as a series of one-day programs, or, in the case of sea kayaking, can also be arranged as a highly worthwhile and productive two or three day overnight camping experience.
